Practice Pillars
Grounded in the body
When we’re in trauma, our body lets us know: fluttery chest, wide eyes, fake smiles, shoulders hunched. We sometimes try to quiet our somatic selves in ways that are protective but are not sustainable like drinking to cope, bad relationships, and dismissing our feelings. You’ll discover how to stay with what your body is saying and to respond in new and better ways.
Person-Centered Approach
In every single moment in your life, you’re capable of growth and of getting closer to your core self. I will encourage you to grow in our time together and to continue to grow outside of our sessions.
Spiritually- and Existentially-informed
You’ll become more curious about freedom, connection, death, and meaning in your life. I’m also trained in providing Spiritual Care so I’ll be curious about your relationship to your religious and spiritual beliefs and how they impact your life.
Anti-Racist Space
Together, we’ll work through the somatic and emotional responses you may experience when facing racism, including in your relationships and at your workplace. You’ll find ways to hold on to your true self in racially charged encounters.
A conversation, not an interrogation
This is a collaborative conversation that involves us both. We’ll focus on the relational aspect, asking ‘How are we right now?’ and ‘How have we experienced our time together in the last hour?’ Through our time together, you’ll learn what’s possible in your most important relationships and how to deepen them and infuse them with more love and realness.
